Dear Friends,

I am writing to introduce myself and express my tremendous excitement at the prospect of joining you soon to begin our new shared ministry! I am honored that your trustees have voted to bring me on board and humbled by their faith in my ability to serve this marvelous congregation! I believe Unitarian Universalism can change the world and I am thrilled to begin that extraordinary work with all of you!

I invite you to review my professional website, www.revruth.org to learn more about me and my philosophy and practice of parish ministry. Take a glance at a few photos of me in action! The password is uuonthebeach.

I am married to Bill Malone, a retired internet technician for the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and we have two wonderful sons: Liam, 20, is a junior at Birmingham-Southern College and Angus, 18, has severe Cerebral Palsy and teaches us daily about what really matters in life. Because Angus doesn’t travel well in warm weather, it may be a while before my guys will be able to come meet everyone,

I am looking forward to living on the panhandle and getting to know the area and all of you! I have spent many happy family vacations close by!

As the trustees lead us in a careful and intentional re-opening process, we have a lot to look forward to! This is great time to re-discover what makes this congregation so amazing and also to try some new approaches to effective UU ministry both within and without our walls! Together we will renew and revitalize Unitarian Universalism in our area and continue our vital work of repairing the world!

See you in August!
Faithfully, your new minister,

Rev. Ruth
