Rev. Ruth’s Reflections – December 9th, 2022

Rev. Ruth's Reflections

I chased a wild rabbit up my driveway the other evening. I didn’t mean to, but it’s a steep driveway, and once the poor thing got going, it could only run into the wall on the left or off the bank on the right.

So it just kept hopping, up, up, up while I followed very slowly until the driveway turned left around the back of the house and I could see the little, fluffy, white tail make a jump for shelter under the Camelia.

Sometimes I feel a bit like a rabbit being chased up a steep path with no alternative but to keep pushing forward. I sometimes bump into hard, brick walls and then teter on the edge of precarious banks all the while pushed ahead by the challenges of life.

I find my Camelia bush and rest a while underneath its cool, quiet branches. And then the path beckons again, and I am off.

Hope you can all find a Camelia or two to rest under this busy season!

In wisdom and grace,

Rev. Ruth
