Daisy Horn (1929-2020) – A Celebration of Her Life

The family of Daisy A. Horn cordially invites all members of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of the Emerald Coast to a “Celebration of Her Life” on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. Due to Covid-19 concerns, the service will be held under a tent in the parking lot of the church. Music will be provided by Daisy’s granddaughter, harpist Samantha Horn, and light refreshments served.

Daisy was a devoted member of the Fellowship. Upon retiring in 2001, she and her husband John moved from New Jersey to Niceville, where they joined their first Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of the Emerald Coast. That congregation remained a significant focal point for the rest of their lives. John died in 2007 and his service was at the fellowship. When she joined, Daisy quickly became an enthusiastic volunteer in church affairs, including serving on and/or chairing such committees as “Social Justice,” “Human Resources,” “Endowment,” “Finance,” and “Event Coordination.” Many will remember her acting in church plays as well as writing various church productions. She was always up for hosting “Dinners for Eight” parties and a good game of poker.

Following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s, Daisy passed away on April 23, 2020 at the age of ninety. As the pandemic prevented a memorial service at that time, the decision was made to postpone the event until this fall, at the location which meant so much to her. We hope you can join us.
