In the process of planning the redesign of the main page, identified and implemented some quick changes that would immediately improve the usability of the page. Mainly these remove duplication and make the page shorter. The redesigned page, when complete, will not require scrolling on common display sizes. See the uua.org site for an example of a nice layout. The changes I made are:
1. Drop the square UUA link, and just keep the horizontal one from:

2. Remove belief-o-matic survey.
3. Remove link to the Beacon Broadside.
4. Change UUFEC yahoogroup list to “Subscribe or visit our UUFEC Yahoo! groups mailing list” and move
it into blue box above “Need Help”
5. Remove “subscribe to our …podcast” link (since it’s listed above already, no need to have it twice)
6. Change “need help link” so it doesn’t say click here, and lists the email address instead of hiding it in the link. That will make it clearer that you are emailing someone when you click on that link.
