Dr. David Ott, local composer, conductor and musician will open the popular community classical music study series, Better Listening, on Tuesday February 7, 2012, at the Valpariaso Unitarian Church. His topic will be How Money, Weather and Sex Changed the History of Music with examples from CD selections. This is the first of eight programs to be held each Tuesday evening through March 27 from 7 to 9 PM at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Hall, 1295 Bayshore Drive, Valparaiso. Other scheduled topics in the series are 10 Must-Have Classical CD’s, The History of 88 Keys, Musical Mysticism , Music Composition, Classic Music in 3/4 Time, Haydn and his Famous Pupils and Can You Name the Composer? Guest speakers will include NFSO Director Jeffrey Rink and Dr. Jeremy Ribando, professor at NWF State College.
